Plot and story line to my film trailer - NEEDS FINISHING

For my A2 Media Coursework, I originally wanted to produce a music video, but now I have had a complete change in thought. I am now going to create my own horror trailer for a film. The trailer will be three minutes long, very interesting, scary and leaving the audience wanting more. I will use a sense of mystery and enigma to engage and interest the  audience and I will also be using low key lighting when needed to provide an anxiety in the atmosphere of tension. Also the darkness connotes mystery and uncertainty. I may be using flashbacks to contribute a sense of time and space disorientation which could confuse the audience. I will definitely be using suspense music and sounds to provide thrills and to drive the narrative forward. Fast paced editing will be used to reflect action, as well as disturbing sounds that are evident and the editing can create unsettling tension and suspense. I’m also planning on creating extraordinary events that happen in ordinary situations. I have a range of themes to choose from, these include, good vs evil, the supernatural, beyond death and also madness and insanity.

Over the past few weeks I have been watching lots of different film trailers to get an idea on what I would like my own film trailer to represent. I have a few ideas, however, all the trailers I have watched have had a similar story line. These films either consist of a killer, a hero/heroine and the innocent one as well as the other characters such as mum and dad, family and friends.

The plot is the driving force of your screenplay, so it’s essential that you spend time on your plotting skills when you’re writing a script outline.

I've done some research on how to write a plot/story line, when doing this I found a website which gave you 9 simple steps on what you need to do to write what you need.

''Amnesia: The Dark Decent is a mind blogging, sinister thriller.
