Casting & Mise-en-scene recce

Cast list
Liv Hardwick – Elizabeth Hunter
Beth Cable – Sarah Woods
Vicky Orsborne – Lucy Harrison

Liv is my touch of horror and thrill to the film trailer. She is currently a college student, studying Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and Law, her plans are to go to University in 2013 to do Nursing. I have asked her to play the role of Elizabeth Hunter as I know she likes fulfilling roles which are related to horror. I know this as in a previous year she played the part of a zombie in a huge dance performance.

Beth is also currently in her last year of college studying sport and later moving on to University. She is playing the part of Sarah who is one of the girls who is moving into her first house, away from living with her parents. I have chosen Beth to fill this role as she is one of my best friends, it was easy for me to ask her to play this part as I know we will be comfortable working with one another to get this project done. Beth is perfect for this role as she likes adventure and horror secrets within films. This character is a girl who explores a box of unknown photographs for the 1600’s.

Vicky is a college student currently studying Law and Dance. Vicky likes to perform so choosing her to take part in my film trailer is a really good idea as I know she will be confident when acting. She is playing the role of Lucy, who is Sarah’s best friend in the film. It is also her first time away from home in a new house.

Costume and props
Each member of the cast needs different items of clothing and looks, this is so that we can see the differences between the characters.

Liv will be wearing all white, hopefully I’ll be able to find a white or ivory old fashioned summer dress. Her make-up will consist of a pure white, fully powdered face with dark eye makeup. Her hair will be straightened and then back combed at several point for it to appear knotted and messed up.

Beth will be wearing casual clothing. Leggings, any top with black leggings and shoes with a jacket and scarf. As it is nearly winter time in the film and real life, she will need to be wrapped up. Her hair will be tied up in a ponytail with natural makeup.

Vicky will be dressed in leggings and a jumper with a scarf. Her hair will be down and possibly curly, if  not it will be straight. Her makeup will be sort but heavier around the eyes will pink lip gloss.

Props
I'm using Victorian images which I found on Google, to use as my photographs which are found in the cardboard box in the loft of the new house. I'm planning on using wet teabags to make the pictures appear old and dated. I have printed the pictures in black and white, this is because they wouldn't have had colour printers all that time ago.
I will be using white face paint on Olivia's face make make her appear old as well as dark eye makeup.
